FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I have to transfer all QuickBooks data from one company file to another. Can I use DFM?

DFM is designed as a one-time setup tool. For each transaction you want to transfer into or from QuickBooks, you will need to complete this setup. If you wish to transfer everything from one company file to another, you will have to consider the cost of doing such setup for each type of transaction. For example, if everything includes a long list of about 20 to 30 transactions - customers, invoices, bills, journal etc. your setup could be quite involved. You can view the online demo to understand the setup process.

Can DFM export or import any data in QuickBooks?
DFM can work with most QuickBooks data, but a few exceptions. While all lists and transactions are enabled in DFM, reports are not supported. If you need to get the data behind a report, consider the underlying transactions that are displayed on that report. Employee payroll data is another area which is not fully enabled in DFM. While employee info and timesheet info is supported, payroll and tax data is not enabled by QuickBooks for 3rd party data transfer. Therefore, it is a limitation for DFM.
How can I transfer data from one QuickBooks company file to another?
You will use a 2-step process to accomplish this. Use DFM to setup an export from your first company and store the data in a temporary file such as XL. Use this file to import the data into your second QuickBooks company file. Once transferred, you can discard the temporary file.
How many user licenses do I need?
Since DFM is used to import or export QuickBooks data, in most cases a single user license will be sufficient. Although you may have many users with QuickBooks, only one user may process the data transfer. However, if you need more users, we sell 5-user license as well.
How many DFM work when there are multiple users in QuickBooks?
DFM runs as a QuickBooks user on the machine where it is installed. For the duration of the export or import process, QuickBooks will count DFM as one user. The user login is what you configure when you grant permissions to DFM application in QuickBooks (part of initial setup done one-time). If there are other users working on the same record being updated by DFM, either the user or DFM will get a reject message from QuickBooks notifying that more than one person is trying to access the same data.
What if DFM isn't right for me?
There is a 15-day FREE trial which will help you decide if DFM is right for you. However, if you purchase DFM and you are not 100% satisfied, return it within 30 days for a full refund on purchase price.
Is it easy to setup DFM?
DFM is a desktop software installed on your local computer where QuickBooks is also installed. You will then configure DFM for the way you want to use it. The setup time will depend upon the data you need to transfer to QuickBooks.
What kind of help can I get in using the product?
30-day free unlimited support is included with all license purchase. You can purchase annual support contract to ensure ongoing coverage beyond 30-day period.
